Provide a standard, intuitive, approach to applying changes on flyout panels

Since the initial release of Cognos 11 and its use of "flyout" panels there has always been confusion about how to apply changes that are made to property values in the flyout.  Some panels have a "Done" button.  Some have an "Apply" button.  Some have a "Save" button.  Some have a an icon (e.g. back arrow).  Worst of all are that some have no buttons or icons and the only way to apply the change is start clicking around outside the panel until the panel closes and then sometime clicking around again in other parts of the screen to force an update to the panel so the changed value is displayed (e.g. an update to the name of the object).

Since these flyout panels are basically the equivalent of a popup window, it would be FAR more intuitive to have a  standard, consistant, set of icons and/or buttons on all flyouts for "saving", "cancelling", and "applying (i.e. saving the change but not closing the flyout panel)" changes.    These 3 actions are the defacto standard that has been used in the IT industry for decades.

This is a re-occurring theme I hear from our customer base.  Not intuitive!
