RELATED IDEAS

Dashboard - without Editing the Dashboard, in Properties - show the PACKAGE/ Data Module source.

Presently,  I do not see a way of knowing the Package / Data Module a Dashboard uses as it's source without EDIITING the Dashboard.  It would be helpful if the full Breadcrumb path to the Package/Data Module is visible from outside of the EDIT option.

 

Further,  we have two package FOLDER locations where we develop our Dashboards, 

DEVELOPMENT

and

DEPLOYMENT

We first develop a Dashboard a package located in the DEVELOPMENT folder.

When  ready for deployment - we RELINK the Package source to the same named package in our DEPLOYMENT foldler.
Before or after the RELINK - the is no breadcrumb trail for the Package path...

So - there is no visual confirmation that a Dashboard has been relinked to the correct package location - so we often relink to be safe.

    I think the best way to do that, is to add the same option that exists in reports (Properties -> General -> Advanced -> Source Package or Data Module).

    That way a Dashboard pack or DM could easily be changed.
