Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests
The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Receive notification on the decision
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.
JDBC and ODBC driver for Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations
We see a lot of customers moving to D365 from AX2009 and AX2012, most of the customers have a datavarehouse between their Cognos solution, but nearly every customer also have the need for live ad-hoc reporting as well, when they have month closing, project analysis and reporting and so on. This is normally one of the strength in Cognos, that we support both live data and staged data. When we go to the marked, this is often one of the reason to choose Cognos instead of other BI tools for new customers and for customers already on Cognos they would like to keep this feature, so if we are not able to provide this feature in the future, we risk losing customer to Power BI that already has this feature.
JDBC is the most important, but I put in ODBC as well, because a lot of our customers still use powercubes.
I short a direct connection driver for D365 data both FO, CRM, Retail etc, would have great value for the go-to-market strategy, and give us a big advantage when trying to win new customers as well as keeping existing customers.
