Assess SQL Server 2019 and Windows Server 2019 for Cognos Analytics compatability

I have looked at all applicable software compatibility reports and the like and can see that Microsoft SQL Server 2019 is not yet supported as a content store or data source (for 11.1.1 and 11.1.4)...and that Microsoft Windows Server 2019 is not yet supported as an operating system (for 11.1.1 and 11.1.4). I need to know if and where they each are in the compatibility assessment pipeline for each of those CA versions. We are receiving pressure to move to Windows Server 2019 for our Cognos application servers....and to SQL Server 2019 for our content store and need to be able to speak to when these may or may not be supported for 11.1.1 and 11.1.4.

Why doesn't the software compatibility report show that Windows Server 2019 is a supported OS? Thought it did at one point (and you mention it's delivered for 11.1.7)...

    Hi,

I'm in a similar position where there are plans for infrastructure upgrades to move to Windows 2019 but I'm holding bac moving the Cognos Analytics platform onto this version due to the current lack of support. This Windows server edition has been in general release since October 2018 and a number of my customer's IT departments are wondering what reasons there are for Cognos Analytics not being supported on this version yet.

I've heard back from IBM support today (7th July 2020) and they said there are plans for the release of 11.1.7 to include support for Windows 2019.
