Yes, I think that the ability to "pin" items to the top of the sort list would help. In the 10.2 version you could achieve this by using custom sort. It wasn't anything a User had to configure for themselves, whoever created the Folder and it's contents could set the sort order, if I recall correctly.
To clarify, in the product now, you can sort content by name, modified date/time, and type - either descending or ascending. The request here is specifically to allow a custom sort.
I don't see this option in 11.2.2.

I would prefer that the content is sorted alphabetically or numerically. But can see where custom sorting can be helpful.
Strongly recommended. Customers highly require this for maintenance of existing portal pages.
