Enhance CDC v11.4 source engine to support oracle ASM redundancy with failure group

In China some customer is using Oracle ASM redundancy solution with failure group which support 2 storage systems located at both machine rooms as storage redundancy and Disaster backup under oracle control. If one of machine room  happens power down or storage fails, oracle can still work well and no impact for production environment.
The customer uses CDC v11.4 as kernel DR tool to replicate multiple oracle RAC environments and zDB2/UDB  as CDC source engines to their data warehouse/bigdata systems and other application DBs for supporting their core data system.
But the customer has got confirmed from CDC lab through CASE TS002495377 that CDC doesn’t support ASM redundancy ( failure group)  right now, CDC will only look at the primary copy of the ASM managed logs.
The customer thinks this result is reducing the whole system high availability and reliability.
They also heard from oracle support team that this kind of design for ORACLE RAC with redundancy storage is quite often used by the banks in China.
 
So the customer request IBM local support term to raise this RFE to enhance CDC to support Oracle ASM redundancy failure group design ASAP.

    CDC with this feature will support Oracle ASM redundancy with failure group well to customer with Oracle base.
