asntdiff Utility for Other-Vendor Databases that Does Not Require Federation

It is important for customers to be able to validate completeness and consistency of the data replicated by InfoSphere Data Replication (IDR) between source and target.  The asntdiff utility performs this function.

asntdiff only directly accesses Db2 databases.  In order to use asntdiff in a replication topology where one of the databases is not Db2, you must use Db2 federation.  This requires that another Db2 for LUW instance be licensed to provide federation and another (FEDDB) database to be maintained - even if it is used in PASSTHRU mode.

The request for enhancement is for asntdiff to be modified to invoke a native client (e.g. Oracle) for other-vendor databases  or ODBC for the SOURCE_SERVER or TARGET_SERVER parameters.

    This is long overdue.
