We are using CDC for DB2 with a rule set to replicate an entire schema from one database to another, both DDL and DML. However we have noted that if the source schema contains views, we need to explicitly exclude them from the rule set:
add rule set ruleName AxonTab schema QIS
structureOnly false
includeAll yes
excludePattern "CUST_EMAIL1_ISS_ID2_V" excludeMatch exact;
If we don't, CDC mirroring crashes with an exception in the log. This is quite inconvenient, because every time a view is added in the source database, we need to update the CDC rule set.
Our proposal is: given that CDC cannot replicate views, let it automatically ignore all views in the source schema. Thus removing the need to list every view individually on the rule set.
