When the subscriptions failed, it always need customer to restart it manually.
in banking environment there are too many subscriptions need to monitor and manage, even coding to management is also hard work, and it will impact real-time efficiency.
There are more and more requirements on CDC supporting after-failure options for the subscription. for example, some subscription can be restarted automatically when failed without data inconsistency, some need to restart manually...
this feature will be very useful to customer maintain, especial to customer with CDC lots using.

We use the stats warehouse stuff and send its data via filebeat to Kibana and create alerts based on the subscription status... however, there are times when this stat warehouse agent starts sending a subscription status as "Inactive" but when you look in the management console UI it shows "Mirror continuously". So it appears to the subscription is working but the only way to get the stats agent to start reporting the subcription status correctly again is to restart it, or restart the subscription. Really annoying and not ideal for a production environment.
IBM update.
Thanks for filing this requirement.
We guide that our many clients in production environment implement an automatic monitoring approach (outside of the product) such as in this example: https://github.com/fketelaars/IIDR-Stats-Warehouse When issues are detected the logic on what happens next e.g. alerts or automatic restarts is also addressed outside of the core product but via use of the provided apis/chcclp scripting language.
We will not be accepting this requirement for specific product enhancements. Please consider the approaches outlined above.
