We would like to give the CDC Management Console and the Monitor role to an application support group. Our CDC does data replication from z/OS Db2 to Oracle. The support group would then be able to monitor, among other tasks, table refreshes and the continuous subscriptions. The Monitor role does not allow the technician to log into a Db2 datastore; in fact, it does not even display that option. We all log into Db2 data stores to display the source subscription status as well as the event logs.
Management does not want to grant the support group the Operator role because it allows the starting and stopping of subscriptions. Their access should be view only.
Could the Monitor role be modified to allow the individual to login into the source Db2 data stores? This method protects the security of the Db2 datastores. It will help the DBAs by eliminating unnecessary calls as well as giving the application folks more information to troubleshoot. It will also allow better customer service to all the front and downstream users of the replicated data.
Thank you.

Thank you for showing us an alternate way to connect to the datastores using the little Data store icon on the top left. We now have the monitor role accessing the proper datastores.
IBM Update: Thank you for submitting this request.
You can access this functionality by completing the following steps:
( to be done by ADMIN user role ). Add a datastore to the monitor user without any datastore credentials.
Login using “monitor” user
Initially the datastore will fail to connect because we have not given the datastore credentials.
After clicking on connect we get options to enter username and password. Entering valid credentials user will be able to connect to datastore.
If both the source and target datastores are connected then user will be able to see the subscriptions.
