IBM Update.
We've completed a more thorough review of the requirement.
Here are our updated comments:
We believe that the feature is not applicable to the CDC product since the relevant product components are developed and run in a Java environment. The nature of the Java security model already mitigates the risks that the CFG feature is trying to address.
Security should be approached in layers and understood that there is no one feature or capability alone that makes something secure (or insecure). Limiting and controlling access (restricting and/or eliminating completely) is the first and single biggest factor in dealing with security. Feature capabilities (like encryption, scan tooling, etc.), policies and practices, governance, and etc. all add more layers and as a whole improve security posture.
IBM update.
The state of this requirement continues to "future consideration". In summary, we will revisit for potential prioritization during during roadmap planning exercises.
Similar requests from more customers will be helpful in helping us prioritize.
