If there is no data changes to flow to the target , Classic CDC will leave the CDO connection idle. Something in the network path appears to be ending these connections such that when they are used after a period of inactivity z/OS Communications Server will experience a retransmit timeout and reset the connection on z/OS. Classic CDC will close the CDO and also the CDI connection. As a work-around fix for this situation, we have to set up automation that issue /CHECKPOINT command in IMS to keep CDO alive. For a long-term fix, we would like to request an enhancement to Classic CDC to enable keep alive messages on the CDO connection

Hi,
there is KEEP_ALIVE_TIMEOUT parameter in every CDC engine types, except IMS CDC. when i have a replication from IMS to Oracle i can see the KEEP_ALIVE packets that are sent by Oracle as target to the IMS. But there is no packet from IMS to the Oracle and lead to connection lost.
every time that there is no activity in the IMS DB for a long time you will lost the replication channel from source to the target anf there is many of CECC0016E Error in the log.
why is the reason of no KEEP_ALIVE_TIMEOUT parameter in IMS CDC (Classic CDC) engine?? what can we do, to solve the connection lost and how we can ensure these connections remain active during periods of inactivity??
