The credentials are given for datastore connection is in clear text format which is a risk. CDC should have a mechanism to encrpyt and use the encrypted password in CHCCLP.

Below is the snippet of CHCCLP script where we trying to connect to source and target datastores and we are expected to provide credentials in clear text format which can be viewed by other users and it is risk.
Currently, CHCCLP script is not supported with encrypted password. We would like to provide encrypted password instead of providing in clear text. Thank you!
#connection to source datastore
CONNECT DATASTORE NAME "%SOURCE_DS%"
HOSTNAME "%MF_HOST%" PORT "%MF_PORT%"
USERNAME "%MF_USER%" PASSWORD "%MF_PASS%" CONTEXT SOURCE;
#connection to target datastore
CONNECT DATASTORE NAME "%TARGET_DS%"
HOSTNAME "%KAFKA_HOST%" PORT "%KAFKA_PORT%"
USERNAME "%KAFKA_USER%" PASSWORD "%KAFKA_PASS%" CONTEXT TARGET;

The validity of this idea has to be beyond repudiation. This is especially true because clients will tend to promote CDC subscriptions into their production environment with a CHCCLP script, rather than an interactive Graphical Tool.
I fully support the need to encrypt passwords for tooling that will be used in production. Neale Armstrong, IBM Australia Technical Sales.
