During the CDC installation process, where the ./dmconfigurets tool is used, there are some options that can be entered as input, although they are quite limited. The need is to make the tool as flexible as possible and, allowing it to change the output script that will be running on the mainframe. The change needed in the script can be to set a specific value for the VOL(xx) parameter or simply delete certain lines to skip actions such as creating a new dataset, as that dataset has already been created by the mainframe admins according to the customers established rules and naming conventions.
=> So, CDC user should prompt for missing privileges, so customer ask is CDC should provide a pre-req tool, which identified the missing privileges?
e.g.:
1. CDC should use SMS Storage space instead of Non-SMS managed space. (
2. It should pop-up for missing WLM privileges.
3. It should pop-up for load libraries discrepancies.
4. It should not asked for tables to be created on schema name to recognize the schema.
