Add retry logic for z agent on the source side

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

Today the IDR agent for DB2 on z only use retry logic for the target side.

The request is to add retry logic to the source side.

For example, a table is defined as a child in RI relationship.

when you load the child table:

1. it goes into CHKP status as DB2 can't vouch that the connection is logically correct.

2. Immediately after the LOAD completes, IDR tries to refresh the data.

3. the refresh fails with -904 reason  00C900A3.

The whole subscription fails and a manual intervention is needed .

Usually, the job that loads the table does a CHECK DATA  to clear the CHKP status in a subsequent step.

If the IDR agent would use retry logic, the table should be free after a few retries and allow the refresh to be done.

see support case TS018158067 regarding this issue.

Thanks,

Shay.
