Allow Db2 columnar table replication via CDC

Truist has obtained 3M+ of Data Replication entitlements in Q1 of 2025 to replicate data from Exadata and Db2 WH to Snowflake. Db2 WH table are all in columnar format and Truist would like for the tables to stay the same way. Our current workaround is 2 hop solution: QRep Db2 WH columnar to Db2 WH row-oriented and then CDC to Snowflake. The extra hop creates a lot of excess steps, storage and compute usage. Truis' CDO has taken this issue to their "Active risk" executive watchlist.

Thanks for filing this requirement. We will not be addressing this.

Alternatives were shared in our discussion.

Truist is on a slow transition path from using on prem analytical databases to Snowflake. For the transition period of 2-5 years they want to have the same analytical data both in on prem stores Exadata, Cloudera, Db2 WH and Netezza and a copy in Snowflake. At their current point, Truist doesn't want to rewrite ETL jobs that bring data into their current DWHs, but replicate from on prem DWHs to Snowflake.

Logging for columnar tables already exists in Db2 and QRep can replicate by reading this new type of logs, so only CDC development efforts are required, as far as I understand.
