Allowing SETJRNPOS to run with a parameter for “current” to automatically capture the active journal position on IBM i

CDC on IBM iSeries (Db2 for i) does not provide a built-in feature to automatically update the journal sequence after a failover or planned switch. The manual step (capturing and updating the journal sequence) requires an exact restart point to prevent data loss or duplication. typically occurs during a disaster recovery (DR) switch, where the journal receiver and sequence number become invalid on the new source due to different journal information. CDC does not flush the journal position automatically, so a SETJRNPOS command is required before restarting subscriptions. To avaoid this manual process, the tool should be able to capture the current journal receiver entry and update automatically and restart from the last point should pick thtat up.
