Basic data lineage reports and support with lineage tooling

As a user of CDC, I want to be able to answer basic questions about the data lineage of my subscriptions easily and in an automated way.  Today, if an internal customer asks where my data is going this is a manual effort and takes time to solve.  This is a challenge in a large organization where we have over 1000 tables mapped and approximately 30 subscriptions.   Today, I have to manually download a subscription report which tells me the source table, and the table listed in the subscription, but it does not tell me the name of the table in the target database or datastore.

I would like the following ability to make my life easier:

A report that contains the table information for the target.

The ability to run this report with the target information and consolidate it across multiple subscriptions.

The consolidation of the same target table across multiple subscriptions in the target table name

The consolidation of the same source table across multiple subscriptions

Exportable table in a .csv format

Nice to haves:

  • Expandable to include table level schema details to track column propagation
  • Export feature for sharing with internal customers
  • As a reference, this should have at least the same functionality as Q-REP 
  • The ability for the underlying metadata to be accessible by a separate data lineage tool to show any transformations that were done by CDC for true end to end data lineage
