This portal is to open public enhancement requests against products and services offered by the IBM Data & AI organization. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Background:
As of now, IBM Data replication has no restrictions to be deployed on specific cluster to replicate data from various sources to targets available, however for users who wants to replicate data using watsonx.data presto connector, the documentation requires IBM Data Replication to be installed at the same cluster as watsonx.data which creates significant dependency for the capability.
Objective:
To enhance flexibility and scalability by enabling separate deployment of data replication components from watsonx.data Lakehouse across different
clusters.
Benefits for Users and Businesses:
1. Enhanced Flexibility:
Users can deploy components independently on various clusters, allowing for modular and customizable data management setups.
2. Improved Scalability:
Separate deployments enable efficient resource management, supporting easier addition or removal of clusters as needed.
3. Cost Efficiency:
This approach may reduce infrastructure costs by eliminating the need for shared resources between components.
4. Simplified Management:
Reduced complexity in managing data flow across environments, making setup and operations more straightforward.
By implementing these benefits, businesses can achieve a more adaptable and cost-effective data ecosystem management strategy.

In practice, this approach is not feasible since most customers will not permit the installation of any applications on their databases or lakehouses.
