This is available with MANTA Scanner for Cognos. MANTA is an IBM Partner we use to automate the discovery of technical data lineage. We anticipate fully integrating this metadata into Watson Knowledge Catalog in 1H23.
Thanks for your idea. We can evaluate extending the existing Cognos import capabilities, that capture the Report and its query structure, the underlying Model and source Database information. Within the tool, the presence of Cogos is meant to provide a complete and hoslitic view of all informational assets of an Enterprise, and organzie and govern them thru Terms, Rules, Stewardship and other attributes, providing visibility and supporting lineage services.
We understand the need for additional information to be included in such a view, and how that information is useful for the user to develop a deeper understanding. It is possible to add such information post-import (manually) thur the addition of custom attributes (properties).
