This portal is to open public enhancement requests against products and services offered by the IBM Data Platform organization. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Data Refinery is used to filter data (and many more), but a user cannot see how many rows are in the original data set nor in the result after filtering. It would be great if one could immediatly see an overview of number of rows of the complete data set (not only from the preview!)

Sounds great. However, even I understand why it may take long to recalculate on a large data set, what about let a user choose? Or make it depend on the size of the dataset?
We are considering how to get a quick count of the total rows in a full dataset in an upcoming release. It will not likely be possible to update this as operations are applied on the sample during interactive refinement since the impact on the full dataset can only be determined once it is applied which takes too long to update during an interactive session for large sets. We do show the step by step impact on the interactive sample.
It could be possible to show the impact each step had during the last run of the refinery flow against a full data set which might be helpful input to use during subsequent data shaping. Would this be of interest to you?
