Custom Property Field value needs to read from a database and be indexed alphabetically

The functionality for a Custom Attribute is to connect to a database and then read data from a table and display as a drop down. Also it must be indexed so that the user can search by typing (e.g., suppose a user wants to search for "Alex Brown" from the drop down, when the user types "A", the values starting with "A" must appear from the drop down list. The other requirement is to attach a AD user/group from the LDAP to the list of values.

    Hi Barry, currently we do not have plans on the roadmap to support custom property fields to read from a database table. I'll update Idea status based on this requirement since it's in the title.

    However, please note that the other requirement to support users / groups in custom properties is on the roadmap within the next 18 months.
