Customized abbreviation dictionary to improve data class assignment and searching for business terms

Capabilites similar to Erwin and other data modelling tools in which abbreviations can be expanded for search and for field name recognition. Ideally, each field could also have an automatic "expanded" or un-abbreviated alias. Column name ABS_VAL would ALSO be known as Absolute Value. This would help reduce the need for "property terms" as well.

    Hello,

abbreviations are already used by term assignment method: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cloud-paks/cp-data/4.8.x?topic=results-term-assignment#ta-name-matching

Plase feedback if anything else is missing, as it is not clear to me from the description.

    Best regards,

    Michal

Hi, could you elaborate more on where the abbreviations are needed? Is the request to provide better support for abbreviations of artifacts (terms, data classes), or is it about introducing abbreviations for columns?
