A "OCP centric" DR solution

Intesa SanPaolo needs to organize periodically DR tests. These tests are conducted by creating OpenShift clusters in a isolate environment only when needed (once the DR test is completed, the clusters are deleted).

Specifically, the client currently creates the necessary OpenShift clusters and installs their stateless applications via GIT.

For CP4D (in this case, with Datastage and Watson Pipelines with persistent storage on NFS), this approach is likely not manageable (if I'm not mistaken, ArgoCD is not currently certified). Additionally, the environment created would be empty (without projects, product configurations, connections, etc.).

Another approach could be to use an offline backup and proceed only with the initial installation phases, completing the CP4D installation through a restore. While this approach is certified and valid, the client is not fond of it, as it would require scripting to automate the operational steps of installation/restore (for DR test the customer asks for minimal or no manual activities).

The client is proposing a more "OCP-centric" approach where the content of the NFS storage is replicated, the NFS provider's pointing is redefined, and all manifests (and any other necessary objects) are recreated.

In this moment this approch is not certified (see case TS015149399). So, the  enhancement is to have a DR solution based on OCP objects backup/restore with an underline PV sync.
