The initial requirement sounds as a request to introduce custom artifact type, which is not something we plan for a near future.
A viable alternative might be restrictions on categories, which is on the roadmap. With tentative timeline Q4 2024/Q1 2025.

Could you be more specific on the types of governance artifacts you need? Why would "Subject Area" not be a category, or subcategory, for example? What sort of attributes are needed? As you know in configuration settings you can add a number of customizations to different Governance Artifacts.
