Shutdown and restart gracefully entirely CP4D

Background

- Customer is using CP4D 4.8.3 On Premise with OCP 4.14 and Spectrum Container Native Storage Access (CNSA) 5.1.9 and Hyper-V for VMs

- They need a procedure tested, supported and published in IBM Docs (or TechNote) to shutdown gracefully entirely CP4D.

- Customer plans to shutdown CP4D and also shutdown virtual machines. It's because of technology infrastracture maintenance, for example: troubleshooting, moving virtual machines between Hyper-V hosts, backup of the cabain storage infrastructure, VM's snapshot.

  • current products: Catalana is using Datastage, Db2 warehouse, DMC, pipelines, WKC & Manta

Current Situation

- Customer doesn't have a formal procedure and it's not being accepted by operations team, so being a blocker for Deployment to Production.

Request

- They need a procedure tested, supported and published in IBM Docs (or TechNote) to shutdown and restart gracefully CP4D.

- Take in count some requirements about CNSA. For example:

It's needed to have the CNSA quorum nodes and sidecar pods in OCP nodes different than CP4D workers to avoid problems during shutdown and restart of VMs that contains CP4D workers.
