Enhanced Data Export File Format Support for Reference Data

Problem Statement: Currently, Reference data export functionality is limited to CSV format, restricting its versatility and usability for various data destinations.

Proposed Solution: Expand Reference data export capabilities to support a wider range of commonly used file formats, including XML, JSON, CSV (tab-delimited), Fixed-Width text, XLSX, and JSON/XML with hierarchical data structures.

Function Requirements:

  • UI and Batch Processing Support: Ensure that the supported file formats can be used both through the Reference user interface and via batch processing.

  • Data Validation: Implement robust data validation mechanisms to ensure data integrity and consistency during the export process.

  • Schema Mapping: Provide a flexible schema mapping feature to align exported data with the desired output format.

  • Parsing Libraries: Leverage established parsing libraries for efficient handling of different file formats.

  • Schema Definition: Provide a clear and intuitive mechanism for defining the output schema.

Benefits of Enhanced File Format Support:

  • Versatility: Enable Reference to export data to a wider range of systems and applications.

  • User Friendliness: Simplify data integration by offering familiar and commonly used file formats.

  • Efficiency: Streamline the data export process, reducing manual effort and potential errors.

  • Data Accessibility: Improve data accessibility for external systems by supporting formats that are widely used.

    Hello,

At this time, we do not have plans to extend the supported file formats for reference data import/export. While this may be considered in the long term, it is not a current priority.

    Best regards,
    Michal
