XML Support for Reference Data Request/Response from IKC via API

Problem Statement: Currently, IKC only supports JSON format for API requests and responses. This limits flexibility for users who prefer or require XML format.

Proposed Solution: Expand IKC's API support to include XML format for both requests and responses.

Function Requirements:

  • XML Schema Adherence: Ensure that all XML responses adhere to a well-defined schema, providing a clear structure for data interpretation.

  • Request Flexibility: Allow users to specify their preferred format (XML or JSON) in the request headers.

  • Error Handling: Implement appropriate error handling mechanisms to gracefully handle invalid XML requests or responses.

  • Data Consistency: Maintain data consistency between JSON and XML formats to ensure accurate data exchange.

  • Schema Definition: Create a clear and comprehensive XML schema to define the structure of responses.

  • Data Conversion: If necessary, implement mechanisms to convert data between JSON and XML formats.

Benefits of XML Support:

  • Versatility: Accommodate a wider range of user preferences and integration requirements.

  • Interoperability: Improve interoperability with systems that prefer XML format.

  • Flexibility: Provide users with the choice of format, enhancing flexibility and customization.

  • Data Integrity: Ensure data integrity by adhering to a defined XML schema.
