Enable the ability to create custom asset objects directly through the user interface.

Currently, users can only create custom asset objects using the REST API, which may be challenging for those who are not familiar with API interactions. By adding support for creating custom asset types directly through the user interface, users will have a more intuitive and accessible way to manage their assets. This enhancement will streamline the process, allowing users to easily define and create custom asset objects without needing to rely on technical API knowledge.

    Hello Susanna Tai, the link you shared is talking about Asset type creation, and not about Asset object creation of specific type.
    For example, I created new asset type called 'data_artifact'. There is no way in UI to create the asset of type data_artifact.

    Hi Ivan, we do support ability to create custom assets via the UI.

    You first need to define the custom asset types through "Manage asset and artifact definitions" under Administration.

    Once the custom asset types are defined, you can create new assets of the custom asset types in the catalog.
