What if the user wants to add new tables to an existing scope? In version 5.0.3, if you click “Add to data scope” to include new tables, it removes all the tables you had previously selected. If displaying the selected assets impacts performance, I think we should have an option with a checkbox that allows users to add new tables to the existing scope without overwriting the current selection.

This feature exists in a different way and it was implemented in this way considering performance implications.
Showing the selected assets in the asset browser will hit the performance when there are several assets had been selected;
Earlier, user was expected to select all the previously selected assets while editing to persist. However,there was an improvement done; Now, the link to update the scope has been mentioned “Add to data scope” instead of “Edit” - Hence, it is add
Though the the asset browser does not keep all the previously selected assets, still the already selected assets are persisted and user wants to remove the scope, they can remove from the above screen
