Use the same connection in different projects so when we run Discover/Get lineage using MANTA, MANTA will recognized the connection as the same connection.

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

Today if we use the same connection in different projects, when we run Discover/Get lineage using MANTA from each project, MANTA recognized it as different connections . this situation casus "confusion" for manta as it cannot determine which connection to use. So now we

    Hi Atara,

it seems that part of the description that you provided is cut off, do you want to complete it? Anyway, the main idea of the Idea is clear. However, this is a complex topic. The situation that you describe is that you have a single connection in IKC, but could you also confirm it is a single connection Asset (in the same project and the same Asset ID)? By making a copy of the connection in a different project, for example, you'd create a separate connection Asset that would have a different ID. And then we already don't have good technical means how to reconcile these connection assets. In addition to that, different (or the same) users can also create completely independend connection assets pointing to the same source system - and again, we don't have a good way how to reconcile those. So our ability to solve this problem in MANTA Automated Data Lineage is quite limited. This is already solved in IBM Manta Data Lineage / Unified Lineage functionality as part of IBM Knowledge Catalog / IBM watsox.data Intelligece.

    Best Regards,
