IBM watsonx Discovery to accept OAuth authentication mechanism

IBM watsonx Discovery is installed on dedicated Google Cloud Platform (GCP). UPS.com search application will make an API call to IBM watsonx Discovery to retrieve search results for user queries. UPS.com search application will use bearer token authentication.

Risk Acceptance for use of bearer token authentication instead of OAuth authentication mechanism. The communication between UPS.com search application and IBM watsonx Discovery is via dedicated Google Cloud Interconnect, thereby reducing the overall risk.

The approved pattern for API communication in UPS is OAuth authentication mechanism. IBM watsonx Discovery utilizes bearer token authentication only and does not natively support OAuth authentication mechanism.

We are requesting for risk acceptance to use bearer token authentication while a solution is developed to support OAuth via Apigee.
