Global Search Latency Monitoring Dashboard

We need a dashboard to show how quickly changes in the catalog get updated in the global search. This will help us see if the search is working correctly and not falling behind.

Right now, we can't see if our search is up-to-date. When we make a change to an asset, we don't know when it will show up in a search. This makes it hard for users to trust the search, and it's difficult for our team to fix problems with search results.

What We Need:

We want a dashboard that shows:

  • When the search index was last updated.

  • How long it takes for new changes to appear in search.

  • How many updates are waiting to be indexed.

  • Any errors happening during the sync process.

Hi Gabriel, this request came from the business users. It was originally raised in the support ticket TS020026825.

For the time being, please provide the administrative troubleshooting via logs that can cover the four questions asked in the Aha. And for the long term, some kind of report and/or a dashboard for the same.

    Ticket: TS020026825

Subject: [GOV] [PROD][5.1.1]- RabbitMQ Latency Report Request: Sync Between V2 and V3 Repositories

    Problem Description:

We require a performance report detailing event and latency metrics for the RabbitMQ synchronization process between our V2 and V3 repositories. We are facing several issues with syncing between the two IKC repositories, making it difficult to track which events and messages have been synced and when. To address this, we need a dashboard or report that provides information on the number of events received and the time taken to process them on the other side within a given timeframe. Please provide a report that includes key metrics on event latency and queue performance for the relevant RabbitMQ queues. This will help us track the time it takes for events to be processed and synced between the two repositories.

Hi Sanjit — to help us scope this correctly, could you clarify who the primary end user is for this capability: platform administrators/support teams investigating indexing delays or outages, or business users wanting to know when asset changes will appear in search?

In the near term (around 5.4), we can support administrative troubleshooting via logs. If this level of visibility works for your use case, we can provide guidance on how to leverage it today; if not, the alternative would be a future UI-based experience that more directly surfaces search synchronization status and freshness (dashboard), which would need to be planned for later this year (2H).
