Building Reliable flows with Orchestration Pipelines

When working with  data pipelines , failures can occur at multiple stages due to network disruptions, database outages, or incorrect transformations.

Enterprise environments requires reliability, since some pipelines can be used to mission-critical business processes.

There should be a structured approach to making pipelines fault-tolerant, ensuring that tasks can resume from a known state rather than reprocessing the entire pipeline after a failure. For instance using checkpoints or another mechanism.

Hi there, thanks so much for your comment. We have the concept of resuming pipelines from a known state available today in product, via node caching. Node caching enables the pipeline to cache and store information for the entire pipeline, or specific nodes; this way if a pipeline fails and/or reruns, it can utilize that cached information. You can read more here: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cloud-paks/cp-data/5.2.x?topic=pipeline-managing-settings#node-cache. If you still have additional concerns or questions please feel free to reach back out. Thanks!
