In contrast, the IBM-provided Redshift drivers may lag behind these updates, potentially missing critical improvements that affect stability and efficiency in data connectivity and query handling. Using the AWS-native drivers ensures better compatibility with Redshift’s evolving architecture and delivers a more consistent experience for customers.

Who would benefit from it?
All customers using the IBM Redshift connector would benefit from improved reliability, faster query performance, and immediate access to new features and fixes delivered by AWS. This change also reduces dependency on IBM-specific driver maintenance for Redshift compatibility.

How should it work?
The IBM Redshift connector should be updated to utilize the latest AWS-provided native Redshift drivers by default. This approach ensures up-to-date driver support across environments and leverages AWS’s ongoing enhancements for connectivity, performance, and issue resolution.
