Title: Eternal Research Lab — Persistent Multi-Agent Research Units with Human-Gated Test Management for watsonx Orchestrate

Enterprises lose research. Hypotheses live in chat threads, experiments die in notebooks, and nobody remembers what was tried or falsified. AI assistants give one-off answers, but there is no persistent, cumulative research memory that keeps working between sessions.

This idea adds persistent multi-agent research units to watsonx Orchestrate: a Hypothesis Agent that proposes falsifiable claims, an Experiment Agent that runs tests against enterprise data, and a Critic Agent that challenges weak evidence. Every claim carries a status of untested, supported, or contradicted, and every experiment links back to the hypothesis it tested, building a living ledger of what the organization knows and how it knows it.

The human is the lab director. No experiment touching production data, customer records, or external systems runs without explicit human approval, and the human holds kill authority over every agent and every claim at all times.

This turns AI research assistance from one-off answers into cumulative science. All claims are evidence-graded, nothing is presented as fact without supporting evidence, and the lab never auto-publishes a conclusion the human has not reviewed.
