To support the full AI-Lifecycle like described in the "Ladder to AI", the integration of Governance and Metadata in all steps is key. However, when customers using NPS or Db2, and want to take full advantage from the power of these databases during data integration wit DataStage, this comes to an end quite early: only the usage of the optimized platform connections (or connections in a project) in DataStage does bring good performance during the data transformation process. NPS is far too slow when DataStage will generate single row SQL using the standard connections. But when using optimized connections, neither WKC, DV or other tools will work anymore! Integration in the platform stops immediatly, when trying to use fast transformations? The only workaround we found is to create a second standard connection and double the work, but still, there is no work, no integration between DataStage, DV, WKC anymore.
Conclusio: to make the AI Ladder work for NPS and Db2 customers, the full support of optimized and fast connections is needed
