Hi IBM Team
It is true that now we have ODBCRead and ODBCPublish, but it is pending yet the equivalent to the DBUpdate function, which allows us to interact through other ways with the data bases engines . Due to the status "Delivered" for this idea, then I have created a separated idea for the "ODBCUpdate" function. Thanks!
Planned for COS 20.1.
While currently there is no direct replacement for the old DBLink functionality, there are some solutions based on Java. These are available in public github.
I totally agree with your demand. This kind of changes affect us negatively.
Definitely a DB link should be available, we have developed several models over the past few years for which now we are not able to connect OPL 12.6.8. IBM, this kind of changes in technology should not affect negatively customers, I am 100% agree to develop new methods of integration but customers should migrate to them in their own pace.
Yes, please. My data is in a SQL database and I can't possibly rewrite the import in Python. I can't use 12.8 improvements without a database link.
