Manta COBOL scanner does not support EXEC CICS statement.

Background:

Bank has requirement to build data lineage for legacy applications that are implemented in COBOL. Target date to enable the COBOL scanner in Manta production is end of July.

Why it is critical?

  1. Several applications at Truist that interact with critical data elements (CDE) are implemented using COBOL programs. These COBOL programs may contain CDEs.

  2. Enable the data governance for regulatory reporting, and National Review Exams.

  3. Business-critical need to gain visibility into how CDEs flow through these COBOL programs.

Currently, Manta version 42.12.0 simply skips them in lineage.


Expected: Manta should be able to scan EXEC CICS blocks and create lineage for them.
