Support running multiple workflows at the same time

Current State: Manta currently does not allow running multiple workflows at the same time. However only writing and reading from Neo4j cannot happen at the same time.

Therefore a lot of the steps that Manta can run in parallel, such as extraction, does not run in parallel.

Impact: Thus a lot of time is wasted waiting for workflows to complete.

Workaround: The current workaround is to create a workflow and add unrelated connections, so that Manta can run certain scenarios in parallel. This is not easy because it forces user to create one huge workflow which may fail if any of the steps fail. Also these large workflows are not maintainable.

Potential Solution: Manta should look at the first 2-3 worfklows, and run the scenarios that do not block each other, and acquire locks for steps that need to run in sequence, such as analysis or commit.

    Hi Devayon,

this sort of paralelism is supported on the new architecture and available as part of IBM watsonx.data integration, IBM Manta Data Lineage as part of IBM Knowledge Catalog. We do not plan on backporting this improvement to "classic" standalone Manta as the underlying architecture does not support this level of paralelism.

    Best Regards,
