Support Column-Level Lineage in Manta to Alation Export for OpenLineage

Manta can ingest column-level lineage from OpenLineage, but this details is not preserved when exporting to Alation. As a result, only table-level lineage is visible in Alation and critical attribute-level relationships are lost.

We propose enhancing Manta's OpenLienage integration to export column-level lineage to Alation, not just table-level lineage. This will preserve detailed lineage end-to-end, improve impact analysis and governance, and make OpenLineage fully usable for dynamic pipelines such as Talend DMF Jobs.

    We identified that the column export from Manta to Alation is not functioning as expected only for Virtual File System data sources. Upon further investigation, this aligns with a known limitation in Alation, where field-level lineage is not supported for file-based sources.

    As the root cause is on the Alation platform side, no changes are required from the Manta integration. This ticket can be closed.
