Sorting Capability in Open Manta Designer

When users import an Entity from Manta Flow Viewer / Repository through Open Manta Designer (OMD), we have noticed that the Columns order as it is available in the Repository is being jumbled in OMD Left Pane of the Canvas.

This is leading to a lot of confusion and inconvenience to the users since they often try to compare attributes of the entities they're working on the linkage with other entities in OMD.

Hence, we need Manta to not jumble the attributes order / sequence in OMD by retaining the exact same order from the Flow Viewer / Repository. 

Also, "Sorting" of attributes of an entity after it is imported from the left pane of the Canvas needs to be enabled which would help the end users in finding and linking the custom attributes which do not match the naming convention for auto-map.

Request you to kindly help in having the aforementioned capability included in OMD so that users can leverage Manta in a better way for Lineage purposes.

This was submitted as an observation / enhancement request to Manta vide "PROD OMD Issues HD-6307" which got migrated to IBM Portal "Case: TS016610355" but is yet to see the light of the day. We hope the request gets prioritized to be incorporated in the product at the earliest.

    Regarding the Open Manta Designer-related items, these are on hold for the time being. Our current focus is on the core rebuild of the lineage tool, and as such, we've tentatively slated work on the Open Manta Designer for 2025. While we may revisit this in the future, efforts won't be undertaken until the core rebuild is complete. We'll consider this for OMD roadmaps as we progress.
