When I say "access the database" in read more, I mean, to perform select on customer tables, and retrieve data, at least one connection (no concurrency, only command line for example). This will help to identify the status of the desired timestamp provided in the roll forward.

Can you please provide a bit more detail on exactly what kind of operations you would be interested in if you were able to connect to a database in rollforward pending? What would you want to look at "to identify where to open the database"?
