Db2 should request logs in both Log Archive Method

When performing a roll forward, and the LOGARCHMETH1 is configured to a external mechanism like Netbackup, and LOGARCHMETH2 is a local disk, Db2 will ask the first method and wait for the log, even if it takes too long for retrieval.

In this case, Db2 should ask in both methods (1 and 2), and when obtained from one of the methods, the request should be canceled in the other method.

In the described scenario, logs are local in disk written by the LOGARCHMETH2, but Db2 only asks and wait for logs using the LOGARCHMETH1.

Instead of requesting to both methods simultaneouly all the time, and cancel the request later, wouldn't it be better to detect which method uses local storage "DISK:..." and choose this one as the preferred method ,?

But, if both methods are remote storage , like "TSM:..." or VENDOR , then request from both at same time, as we dont know which is faster.
