During rollforward to PIT from TSM, why does DB2 create the second LOGSTREAM0000 directory under the active log path of the database

During rollforward to point in time recovery from TSM, why does DB2 create the second LOGSTREAM0000 directory under the active log path of the database

    If you don't have an overflow log path set then Db2 may have to retrieve log files and so they will go under this directory.


    /logpath/NODExxxx/LOGSTREAMxxxx/ - this is where the active files are located

    /logpath/NODExxxx/LOGSTREAMxxxx/LOGSTREAMxxxx/ - this is where retrieved log files go if no overflow log path is set


    In pureScale you may even see:

    /logpath/NODExxxx/LOGSTREAMxxxx/LOGSTREAMxxxx/

    /logpath/NODExxxx/LOGSTREAMxxxx/LOGSTREAMyyyy/

    /logpath/NODExxxx/LOGSTREAMxxxx/LOGSTREAMzzzz/


    This is all part of the logging design of the product.
