Db2 Federation Enhancement for Mongo DB

  • Currently MongoDB Server script has only three fields as part of connection string i.e, . hostname/port and Database name.

Current: create server SERVER1 type mongodriver version 4.0 wrapper javatest OPTIONS(host 'hostname',port '27017', dbname 'tonydb')

Expected : create server SERVER1 type mongodriver version 4.0 wrapper javatest OPTIONS(host 'hostname',port '27017', authenticationDB 'admindb', dbname 'tonydb')

  • In this way, we don't have the provision to mention "Authentication database". in most cases , user authentication information are stored in "admin" database and collections related to applications are stored in application database. current server script expects both authentication database and application database to be the same.

Workaround : we have currently added users to application database to enable DB2 to connect to mongo.

  • we are requesting a feature to specifically mention "authentication database" in connection string.

  • also, in the place of hostname we would like to mention multiple hostname to achieve high availability incase of failure to any one or more nodes.- or - facilitate use of mongodb SRV record.

Current: create server SERVER1 type mongodriver version 4.0 wrapper javatest OPTIONS(host 'hostname',port '27017', dbname 'tonydb')

Expected : create server SERVER1 type mongodriver version 4.0 wrapper javatest OPTIONS(host 'hostname1,hostanme2',port '27017', authenticationDB 'admindb', dbname 'tonydb')
