Federation Support for Microsoft Access Database

Most of the retail customers use MS Access for maitaining small to medium databases and would like us to consider them while developing solutions.

Unfortunately DB2 LUW 11.5.7 does not have any federation support for MS Access. We have to do a round-about method by porting MS Access to SQL Server and then federate it to DB2.

While that may work as a shortcut, customer would be paying for SQL Server licenses unnecessarily.

Moreover, that method do not comply with real-time nature of the federation concept.
