Hello Joe, Thank you for your response. It is not difficult to implement the logic to dump the Huffman dictionary to an output file. The difficult part is how to validate and test the output. We will look in to this more and in the meantime, we will keep this request in Future Consideration status.

    Sincerely,

    The Db2 for z/OS Team

Our Db2 Tools team member responded as follows...

We were planning to use that for validating the Huffman dictionaries that our utilities build.

So DSN1COMP dumping the dictionary into a dataset (just like it is done for fixed-length) is what we are looking for

Hello Joe. The Db2 for z/OS team has reviewed this enhancement request.

Can you please elaborate more about how you plan to use the output of DSN1COMP when EXTNDICT is used? What is your workaround currently?

The team is hopeful this additional information may give them some understanding on how to validate and test a change.

    Sincerely,

    The Db2 for z/OS Team
