Alert or Threshold Based on Number of Execution of SQL Query

We have noticed that customer is facing database failover issue when number of execution of any one query is very high which is utilizing all of the system resources.

Is there any feasiblity of creating alert/threshold on number of execution of query in DMC so that such issue can be prevented in future.

We can also take this enhancement in terms of performance optimization as well for other customers where DMC is getting used in OLTP environment. Customer can extract report based on alert set on number of execution and those queries can be taken as contender for query tuning/optimization.

Please let me know if it is feasible to include this feature in next release of DMC.

Reviewing this item with the team. Here are some questions.

    1. Number of statements per minute ? per hour ?
    2. How granular should that be ? User Level ? Database level ? Application level ?

When you see that alert is triggered, what are the next steps are you anticipating ? As you mentioned that you have already been facing database failover situations, please articulate what exactly caused the failures. Is it storage ? CPU ? what in particular ?
