"reinitialization" of HADR if takeover is not possible and standby being ROS

Hi,

We recently faced an issue in one of the tablespace in our database on our standby auxiliary database. Our reporting application was connected to this standby database. PMR checked and they suggested that there are only two possibilities which can resolve this issue, one is restore whole backup on to this standby database 2nd one is to takeover to this standby database. Takeover was not possible as it involved production primary. We followed the backup/restore operation which resolved the issue. This took us almost two days to complete the activity.  Our suggestion is to somehow have standby database in read only mode without taking over or restoring the full backup just for one tablespace.
